How does CoolSculpting work?

Fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than surrounding tissues. CoolSculpting technology safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), and then die. Over time, your body naturally processes the fat and expels these dead cells, leaving a more sculpted you.

What can I expect from my CoolSculpting procedure?

Prior to treatment, the providers at The Beautx will discuss your goals and determine the precise areas on which to work. When treatment begins, your provider will position the CoolSculpting device on the area and it will draw the bulge up between two cooling panels.

The sensation is a firm pull and pressure-enough of a pull to ensure the selected tissue will be cooled efficiently. Depending on the extent of your procedure, the treatment is usually complete in about an hour.

When will I notice my results?

While you may start to see some changes 3 weeks after your treatment, you will notice the most dramatic results around 8 weeks. However, your body will continue to flush out fat cells for up to 6 months after the procedure.

Is CoolSculpting safe?

CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared and proven to be a safe and effective treatment. Typically, there is minimal to no downtime after the procedure though some patients may experience temporary pain or discomfort.

Side effects can include redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness to the touch, cramping, itching, tingling and numbness. Numbness can persist for several weeks after a procedure. We can discuss more about what to expect during and after treatment at your consultation.

When will I notice my results?

Good candidates for the CoolSculpting body contouring have noticeable bulges in targeted areas that they’d like to get rid of. Treatable areas include the submental area (under the chin), thigh, abdomen, flank, along with bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks, and the upper arms. CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss solution for people who are obese. It is, however, an excellent option for those looking to sculpt troublesome areas.
